What do a plaid shirt and a red jacket in a store have in common, and how can we take such similarities into consideration when it comes to choosing the upcoming season's range of articles? In times of big data and powerful computing, many methods are known to tackle such a question. So do we really need a deeper understanding of the matter, or will it suffice to deduce an estimate from given historical data? In this talk on a current work in progress, we will explore obvious as well as more hidden aspects to the questions above based on specific sales data in fashion retail.
